Privacy policy

This page lists the third parties anno117.org actually loads and what they store. Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity and Adsterra load by default on the first view; Reject turns them off and remembers that choice for 180 days.

Who we are

The site owner operates anno117.org and is reached at [email protected]. This is an independent guide to Anno 117: Pax Romana; it is not operated by Ubisoft. There is no account, no newsletter and no comment system on this site, so we do not hold a profile of you.

What loads on a page, and when

Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity and Adsterra advertising are requested on the first page view by default, together with the rest of the page. Nothing waits for an Accept click. The cookie banner tells you that and lets you withdraw: pressing Reject stores the refusal for 180 days and reloads the page so their scripts stop. Later page views do not request them while that record is valid. Requests already sent before Reject cannot be recalled from the network. Global Privacy Control is treated as a rejection.

The Google, Clarity and Adsterra scripts are added by this site’s own inline loaders on the first view. Each loader checks the saved preference before requesting its vendor. Google requests use www.googletagmanager.com and www.google-analytics.com; Microsoft requests use www.clarity.ms, scripts.clarity.ms and collection subdomains of clarity.ms; both Adsterra placements start at bicea.org. Consent Mode defaults are declared before any Google configuration.

Google Analytics 4

We use Google Analytics 4, measurement ID G-KDRN2QFD1B, to count page views and see which guides are read. It loads on the first view by default. Consent Mode v2 starts with ad_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization denied, analytics_storage granted, and ads_data_redaction and url_passthrough enabled before the GA4 config call. Accept grants the advertising signals; Reject denies all four signals and reloads without the Google tag. Google may set the _ga and _ga_… cookies (about 2 years each) and processes the page URL, referrer, IP address, and device and browser information under its policies. We do not send names, email addresses or account IDs to Analytics. You can install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout or block the tag in your browser. Google’s policy is at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

Microsoft Clarity

We use Microsoft Clarity, project z9cff87m5u, for heatmaps and session replays. It loads on the first view by default. Clarity may set the _clck cookie (about 1 year) and the _clsk cookie (about 1 day), and processes the pages you visit, clicks, scrolls and session activity. We send ConsentV2 with analytics storage granted and ad storage denied before an explicit Accept. Reject sends both signals as denied and reloads the page without the Clarity loader. Clarity masks sensitive content such as form input by default. Microsoft’s policy is at https://privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement.

Adsterra advertising

We show advertising through Adsterra (publisher ID 3403020, website 6179823). Two units are active: Native Banner NativeBanner_1 (unit 32123161) inside the page column, and Social Bar SocialBar_1 (unit 32123162), the fixed strip at the bottom of the viewport. They load on the first view by default. Adsterra and its partners may set cookies and read your IP address, user agent and the page URL to choose and measure ads. Those cookies are set by Adsterra’s domains, including bicea.org, not by this site; we do not control their lifetime. Adult ads are switched off for this site. Reject stops this site’s Adsterra loaders on the reloaded page; closing the Social Bar with its × button stores a117-ad-dismissed so it does not return. Adsterra’s policy is at https://adsterra.com/privacy-policy/.

YouTube

Some guide pages offer a trailer through a click-to-play facade. The page itself does not request YouTube; pressing play creates an iframe on youtube-nocookie.com and loads the player from Google. The player can then set its own cookies and read your IP address and device information. If you never press play, no YouTube request is made. Google’s policy is at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

Your choices, legal basis and rights

The consent record is stored on your device so we can respect the choice you clicked; that storage is necessary for the preference itself. Analytics, session replay and advertising use the default-on preference explained above. An automatic granted record is not an explicit consent click: Accept records an explicit preference, and Reject switches these services off for later page views. Mail you send is processed to answer you, which is the request you made. You can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, or a copy, and you can object, by emailing [email protected]. You can also complain to the supervisory authority where you live. We do not name a data-protection officer because we do not have one. We do not sell personal information.

You can turn off personalised advertising with the industry exits: Google Ads Settings (https://adssettings.google.com/), the DAA opt-out (https://optout.aboutads.info/), the NAI opt-out (https://optout.networkadvertising.org/) and Your Online Choices (https://www.youronlinechoices.com/). Do Not Track is not a reliable signal in browsers; Global Privacy Control is the signal this site honours. The footer Cookie settings button reopens the banner at any time.

Other third parties

The site does not embed Vimeo, a chat widget, a comment backend or a tag manager. Adsterra may create advertising frames and load partner resources; the Google tag and Clarity are the measurement services described above. Fonts and images are files served from this site. Outbound links to Ubisoft, Steam and community sites are ordinary links: they send nothing until you click one, and the destination’s own policy then applies.

Retention and changes

The consent record lasts 180 days and the Social Bar dismissal lasts until you clear site data or press Accept again. Google, Microsoft and Adsterra retain data according to their service settings and policies; this page does not claim a verified retention period for those accounts. Email you send to [email protected] is kept long enough to answer and to finish a correction.

Changes to this policy show up as a new date on this page. The current date is 6 November 2026. The site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If a script is added later, this page and the banner change in the same edit. Alias addresses /privacy-policy/, /cookie-policy/ and /cookies/ send you here.

Questions

Do you use Google Analytics?

Yes. Google Analytics 4 (G-KDRN2QFD1B) loads on the first page view, before any click on the banner. Press Reject in the banner or in Cookie settings to turn it off for 180 days.

Do I have to accept cookies to read the site?

No. The guides load either way. Analytics, session replay and ads load by default, and Reject turns them off. The banner is a notice and an opt-out, not a gate.

Does the trailer set cookies?

Only after you press play. The player is the youtube-nocookie.com embed, created by the page when you click the play button.

How do I change my choice?

Use Cookie settings in the footer. Accept loads the tags again. Reject stores the refusal for 180 days and reloads the page without them. The record sits in this browser under a117-consent.
