GameRant’s write-up of that quest says sparing the deserters moves Voada by about 80, and executing them is the other branch. The information-architecture note also mentioned a Night of the Round thread. I am not folding that name into Lost Cohort, because the page I could cite is the deserter choice. He is a lighthouse keeper and a quest giver, not one of the eight combat rivals, even though the rival index is where his name also appears.
