Anno 117 Get the Game

Beginner guide

The opening tutorial is satisfied by a single woodcutter and sawmill. GameRant’s beginner notes say you should build two timber chains anyway, so charcoal still has forest later and you are not stalling every other building on planks.

The first production mistake

Wheat farms and bakeries both take 60 seconds. The flour mill takes 30. The matching set is two wheat farms and two bakeries per mill. If you only have a handful of Plebeians, two bakeries already overshoot. Build the second when the bread warning appears, not during the Liberti minutes.

Three bars that cause incidents

Low health brings disease, low happiness brings unrest, low fire safety brings fires. Vigiles, Medici, and Custodes are the buildings that push those bars up. A negative bar is not a flavour icon.

Roads and trees

Service range is road distance. A gap you leave for looks can push a house outside the sanctuary. A woodcutter wants about 80 forest tiles inside its radius for full output, and 95 percent is described as close enough. You can pause while you plan. The same notes say a pause does not start a riot or a fire.

Questions

Should I follow the tutorial’s single timber chain?

It completes the objective. A second chain is the advice from the beginner article so later charcoal still has trees.

Can I pause to fix the layout?

Yes. Pausing is described as safe from riots and fires.
