Anno 117 on Steam Deck
Steam Deck HQ, the only hands-on I could cite on 6 Nov 2026, marks Anno 117 as Deck Playable rather than Verified. The game needs Proton. Controller support failed under their Linux setup, so they played with a keyboard layout.
Settings from that one test
- Resolution 1280×800 to avoid black bars.
- Graphics preset Low.
- FSR set to Ultra Performance.
- SteamOS frame limit 30.
A mid-size city held near 30 frames in their session but stuttered often. The built-in benchmark’s large city dropped to the low 20s. Their summary line is that the game is a bit of a pain on the Deck.
Valve’s own Verified badge is not what this page is quoting. If Proton or SteamOS moves, this single write-up can go stale. I will not average it with guesses.
What this does not answer
Battery life, OLED-specific scaling, and later Proton GE builds are absent from that review. Those cells stay empty until a second public test exists.
Questions
Is Anno 117 Steam Deck Verified?
Steam Deck HQ says Deck Playable, not Verified. That is one source.
Do the Deck controls work?
In that review, gamepad support failed under Proton and a keyboard layout was required.
