Prophecies of Ash walkthrough
Prophecies of Ash went on sale 30 Apr 2026 at $11.99. It extends Latium with Cinis, a supercontinent, plus five smaller islands (three medium, two small). The volcano sits behind the main building ground, and you can turn eruptions off in settings.
How the volcano moves
Anno Union’s dev blogs list the phases as Standard, Tremor, Eruption, Volcanic Winter, then Bloom. During Eruption every Latium mine and quarry stops. Volcanic Winter cuts farm and fishery output by 75 percent and subtracts 3 from happiness, health, and fire safety, while obsidian deposits refill. The gap between eruptions is at least 8 hours and at most 15. Eruption plus winter together last at most 140 minutes.
Each eruption raises Latium soil by one level, which is plus 10 percent farm output, up to three levels by default (30 percent) and five with research (50 percent). If you disable the volcano you lose obsidian and the Bloom bonus. If an eruption already happened, each skipped “should have erupted” tick drops soil by one.
Obsidian and Caecilia
Obsidian comes from mine and quarry byproduct after an eruption, from clicking fallen rock, and from ships picking it up. It feeds two new chains and it is the only currency Caecilia accepts. She lives in a village on the west side of Cinis, her quest explains the island, and the quest can be skipped. She sells 40 or more specialists tied to fertility and deposits.
Access the Riches of Occasus
The phrase shows up in search. anno.land describes it as a discovery inside this DLC, not as a quest with that title. That is one source. I am not filing it under quests.
Questions
Can I start on Cinis?
Yes. New games can pick Cinis. Older saves sail north and take the island.
What if the volcano never erupts?
Check the setting first. Eruptions can be disabled, and the quiet period can last up to 15 hours. See the volcano fix page before calling it a bug.
