Volcano not erupting
German “Vulkan bricht nicht aus” is about the Cinis volcano, not the Vulkan graphics runtime. Anno Union’s two volcano blogs describe a cycle. Standard phase has no buff and no debuff, so a calm island is the default state, not a stuck animation.
Check these before you call it a bug
- Eruptions can be switched off. Off means no Bloom and no new obsidian.
- The gap between eruptions is at least 8 hours of play and at most 15.
- Eruption plus volcanic winter together last at most 140 minutes.
- Turning eruptions back on waits for the next cycle. It does not fire immediately.
- If you already had an eruption and then disabled them, each skipped cycle drops soil level by one.
Update 3.0 fixed Gaze at Volcano pointing the camera at a ship instead of the cone. That was a camera bug. It is not a way to trigger an eruption. No console command or file edit for a forced eruption appears in the blogs, and this page will not invent one.
Questions
Is a quiet Cinis a graphics bug?
Usually no. Check the eruption toggle and the 8–15 hour gap first.
I turned eruptions back on and nothing happened.
The blogs say you wait for the next cycle. They do not describe an instant trigger.
