Anno 117 Get the Game

Deposits, storage, fertility

“Deposits depleted” is an obsidian sentence in the Anno Union volcano blog, and a fertility sentence everywhere else. The two fixes are different. Obsidian comes back when the volcano erupts or when you pick up fallen rock. Ordinary clay and iron do not use that rule.

Obsidian

Mines and quarries stop during the eruption phase. Volcanic winter cuts farms and fisheries by 75 percent. If you turn the volcano off, deposits that empty stay empty and Caecilia’s trade stops with them. Soil level also drops by one on each skipped eruption if you had already seen one.

Storage

Update 3.0’s statistics screen has a Storage tab for one island or many, covering stock, passive trade, active trade, and swings. That is the official way to see a full warehouse. A numeric cap, and a building that raises it by a stated amount, was not in the note. Build more warehouse space and read the tab. I am not printing a capacity figure.

Fertility is a property of the island. If the crop is missing, the published options are trade, another island, or a specialist and research that add fertility. Clay-pit terrain is a separate check: river tiles, not fertility.

Questions

Why did my obsidian mine die?

The deposit is finite. Eruptions refill Latium deposits. A disabled volcano does not.

How do I raise island storage?

Add warehouse space and read the Storage tab. A exact cap was not published.
