Anno 117 will not start
Gamepressure’s launch notes, written around the demo window, and the 3.0 crash list are the two sources. Start with the store client, then the executable, then a renamed settings folder. I am not listing Ubisoft Connect error codes, because no official code table was in those pages.
Steam side
- Restart Steam and the PC.
- Library, Properties, Installed files, verify integrity.
- Settings, Downloads, clear the download cache.
The executable
Gamepressure points at Anno117.exe under steamapps\common\Anno 117\Pax Romana\Bin\Win64, run as administrator. If the launcher itself is missing, they also mention running UbisoftConnectInstaller from the install. That path is a PC Steam layout. Console launch problems are not covered by those steps.
A graphics setting that locks the boot
People who changed graphics and then could not boot are told, as a general PC habit, to rename the local config under Documents\Anno 117 - Pax Romana so the game rebuilds it. I could not find an Anno 117 support article that specifies this. Status: general practice, not an official 117 article.
Update 3.0 says it fixed a crash after loading a save, a crash when clicking Expired Notes, and a clash between a manual save and an autosave. Install 3.0 before you treat those as open bugs.
Questions
Where is Anno117.exe?
steamapps\common\Anno 117\Pax Romana\Bin\Win64, according to the Gamepressure steps.
Ubisoft Connect shows an error code I do not recognise.
No code list was in the sources. Verify files and reinstall the Connect installer from the game folder before you invent a code.
